Our Interiors Division is looking for a Lead Supplier Quality Development Engineer for its Technical Center at Auburn Hills, Michigan.
 

The role of a Lead Supplier Quality Development Engineer is to support the Faurecia Plants, the Commodity Team and the ASQ group with supplier concerns, issues or situations.  The Lead SQD Engineer will also ensure proper implementation of purchasing process activities while adhering to Faurecia Core Procedures.  Examples: Supporting Panel management, Critical Claim follow-ups, Supplier Development and Purchasing Process support.

Responsibilities:

·         Support Panel Management which includes Supplier Selection and Evaluation, Panel Strategy, APQP, Tool and Process Development.

·         Support with Critical Suppliers, including Continuous Improvement Plans, Responsiveness, Tool Transfer, VA/VE / ECR PPAP Validation, and Quality Incidents, PF-4 & S/R.

·         Critical Claim follow-ups (QPs, S/R, and PF4).

·         Conduct audits at supply base as needed or requested.

o   SES, Control Plan, S/R, Launch Readiness, Supplier Assessment, etc

·         Act as Champion when assigned to critical supplier situations (crisis management).  Ensure proper communication for status of situation with proper Faurecia associates (Plant and Corporate).

·         APQP / PPAP support for Development and Serial Life.

·         Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.

·         Complete a trip report for any off-site visits that do not yield an audit result.

·         Regular visits to assigned suppliers to continue development activities to improve supplier performance.

o   Analyze supplier performance for PPM, MPM, QP’s, Responsiveness, etc and react as necessary for improvements

·         Upload created documentation into GPS and department specific file.

·         Ensure proper completion of assigned KPI’s on a monthly basis.

·         Escalate any concerns, issues, or roadblocks to the Commodity Manager for assistance.

·         Update “SQD Activity” log for all off-site trips.

·         Submit improvement ideas for the department or organization to drive improvements.

·         Act as a leader for the “Being Faurecia” initiative.

·         Up to 50% travel required

·         Assist with or coordinate Vii Workshops as trained

·         Other activities or duties as assigned by the Commodity Manager.

Knowledge / Skills:

·         Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP). 

·         Strong organizational skills

·         Able to work alone and within a group

·         Entrepreneur / Self Manage skills

·         Strong written and oral communication skills

·         Strong auditing skills

·         Knowledge and experience with ISO/TS 16949/VDA Standard

·         Ability to work in a multi-cultural organization

·         Knowledge of automotive interiors technologies

·         APQP and PPAP knowledge

 

Education / Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 4 to 6 years of experience in the Automotive Industry. 

·         3 to 5 years of experience in the area of supplier quality.
